I thought today would be different than it was. I had to be at work early so naturally I thought I’d be home early. And I could take that nap I need, blog before I’m too sleepy, maybe take a bath, unpack from my retreat, or watch the last few episodes of Mad Men and The Office while I knit, or the best? Start reading and then doze off with the windows open.
It wasn’t. There’s lots to do at work and not only did I not leave early, I stayed past my normal time AND I had to go to the bank AND there was construction and rain. I’d made a haircut appt for today but decided to cancel it so I could enjoy my afternoon.
No. I bought stuff for dinner, came home, meditated (yay!) and made dinner and fell asleep watching Amèlie with my husband, whom I somehow managed to marry not knowing he’d never seen it.
Tomorrow will be crazy, too. I’m working a little bit in the morning, then leaving and coming back later to work when no one’s around to bug me and ask me for stuff every 5 minutes.
But I do get the weekend off, so I’m definitely looking forward to that. Especially after my trip last night to LUSH. I went to my first Lush in Toronto but was overwhelmed and had to get the hell outta there. I then went to one in New Orleans last year and then they built one in Dallas so I made a point to go there every time I visited my family. Now there’s one at Baybroook Mall. 30 minutes is much, much shorter than 4 hours but I guarantee you I will still complain about having to drive to FREAKING WEBSTER to go to a Lush.
Yes, I am ungrateful and tomorrow I will be puting this ungrateful ass in a sweet smelling bath.
P.S. Thanks to everyone for their warm wishes regarding my godmother! Your love and support is much appreciated.
