I just found out that the Houston Chronicle has endorsed Barack Obama. It’s the first time the Chron has endorsed a Democrat since LBJ.
This doesn’t surprise me too much since I see Obama stickers on every other car and have only seen 3 (count ‘em) McCain yard signs.
What totally surprises me is that Bryan-College Station’s paper has endorsed Obama, its first Democrat endorsement ever. It doesn’t get any more good-ol-boy, whitey-white-white, football-lovin crackerville than that part of Texas. (Okay, maybe Vider.)
If College Station, Texas is turning blue, can I hope for Texas to go blue this election? For the first time in my lifetime?
