The witch was watching the mirror!

That was all I could think of with the word “watch.” It’s for all you Little Mermaid fans. Okay, just Mary Beth. And all the 4 year olds who are not reading my blog.

For Dave’s birthday a few days ago, I went out on a limb and got him something he didn’t ask for or ever really said that he wanted. Thanks to my friend Messina who told me about it, I’d been hoarding this link and hadn’t told Dave about it. I figured I’d just surprise him. He does love a good watch, as well as all things Japanese. (Note: he’s not one of those creepy non-Asian guys who has an entire Anime collection and has posters of Japanese warriors in his living room and does martial arts and only dates Asian women. Not that any of those things are bad- it’s just that all together? Yeah.)

So I picked out this watch for him. (His has white lights, not blue. Amazon has a wider selection.)

You have to be able to do some math. The first column is hours x 5, the second column is hours x 1. The third is minutes x 10 and the fourth is minutes x 1. So right now this watch reads 10:15.

I gave it to him Tuesday night before dinner and after dinner we got some links removed so he could wear it. He loves it. He was completely and pleasantly surprised. He said even his own mom wouldn’t try buying him a watch. It’s pretty cool- it does a weird light up pattern every minute during the evenings that’s cool to watch.

And then I was jealous. I wanted a new watch! My dope Diesel one has a white leather strap that’s getting to’ up. It’s hardly even white anymore on the edges. And my old Nixon one is broken. And the Phillipe Starck one needs to be sent in for repairs.

I’ve decided that I want this one from Tokyo Flash, but it’s not a need right now:

This one works different in that you can set the bottom part to be minutes and then use the top part to count the hours. Or vice versa. Or you can set it to binary (AS IF!) or to the date.

But what I really need is a watch that I can wear every day, that won’t die if I forget to take it off before a shower or swim, that I can bang into walls, or use (eco-friendly) cleaning chemicals on when I get liquid chalk ink all over it.

So I’m going for this one, Cardiac by Puma.

It comes with a chest strap for the heart rate monitor, which lights up the red bar thing. That should come in handy on my ride on Saturday. Might even be fun during yoga. It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow so I’ll let you guys know how it works out.

Did you receive my comment about Waste=Food and you needing to watch it yesterday and all?

I have never seen so many quirky watches in one area, but you have them…makes me wonder why my internet searching skills suck THAT bad that I don’t find things like that on amazon. Seriously.

Every time I see that pic of Dave eating the sausage on the fork, I’m like “WTF is wrong with his tongue?!?!?” And then I’m like, wait, it’s still sausage. yes, it’s come to be a frequent occurrance for me! I love you! Thanks for sharing the beautiful wedding pictures! It’s so sweet to see so much love and happiness on two people that the judge is all infected!

Oh, Mary Beth . . . you can’t call people any kind of illiterate if you can’t even spell it.
