No leotards, though

I am supposed to be getting ready for work and packing for Dallas.  So I’m blogging.

One of my informal New Year’s resolutions was to get in shape, girl.  Training rides for the MS 150 started in January and we were both going to start going to yoga.  And I found almost new climbing shoes at an REI garage sale for $20 (originally $120).  My advice?  Don’t do all 3 activities in 4 days.

Saturday we went for our first training ride and I’m officially off map duty.  We turned left on the wrong street and ended up doing a loop back to a place we’d already been and we had to pedal back in a headwind.  In the easiest gear.  At 9mph.  Hence The Alphabet Game.  The ride was supposed to be 34 miles but with my inventive addition it was 41.  I didn’t go 41 miles, I only went 37 and when I saw that SAG wagon I waved my little arm off.  Dave‘s ego actually rode the rest of the way.

Sunday I had to work due to the crazy Holiday schedule.  Monday after work we went to yoga and it was rather challenging, to put it mildly.  Tuesday after work we went rock climbing.  And Wednesday I woke up dizzy.  Couldn’t walk in a straight line.  Turns out my blood sugar was low because after I had one of my favorite juices, a passionfruit açai, I was much better.  But I laid low that night, did a few yoga stretches to ease my sore muscles and then watched TV (damn you VH1 and your addictive countdown shows!!)

Guess my body wasn’t ready for all of that.  Watching Scrubs every day wasn’t good cardio.  So we’re planning a bike ride in Dallas on a bike trail that I love (but it will be COLD) and we’ll do yoga again next week.  The only way to get better at something is to do it over and over.  (Except for watching Scrubs.)

K, I’m going to post a few pix, then I really have to get ready for work.
