No Mono!!

Wooo!!

After going to the doctor, I began to get better on my own.  The throat stopped hurting, the lymph node’s swelling went down.  So when she called yesterday, I wasn’t surprised to hear I didn’t have mono.  She said my culture had trace amounts of strep (no idea how that works, I didn’t know I could have a little bit of strep throat) and if I wanted antibiotics, I could have them.  I said, no, thanks.

Also, completely unrelated, I think I saw the world’s brightest shooting star last night.  We were walking the dogs (yes, housesitting) and I saw a white light moving through the trees.  It was moving pretty fast and I tried to follow it, but it faded.  My first instinct (and the current one) was that it was a shooting star.  It was moving faster than anything manmade.  Plus, it was silent.

But that had to be THE.  BRIGHTEST. shooting star I’ve seen.  Not only because it was bright, but also:

1. I’m in Houston.  Odds of seeing ANY shooting stars in the city are slim.

2. It was in the same part of the sky as the almost-full moon.

So the odds are against me.  But I can’t imagine what else it might have been.
