Forgot to mention what kind of bike Dave got. He got a barely-used one off Craigslist and for a good price (about $200 cheaper than they’re going for on eBay). It’s a Klein, which are known for their paint jobs. Let’s just be honest, it’s candy paint.
For the most part, it’s purple, so he named it Grimace. These pictures show its range of color in the sunlight. I never get tired of looking at sparkly stuff.

Candy paint?!
Whatever. It’s a limited edition, high quality, show-room ready, custom, iridescent color finish named, “Plum Crazy/Purple Haze”
also, in addition to the ultra-super-high-performance-fantastic-extreme-tothemax! high gloss finish, the frame geometry’s ability to kick some serious hill ass, makes them famous. AND the pioneering technology of internal cabling AND creaseless joint sexyness.
He was seriously offended by that.
